WHAT IS MUSIC AND WALKS?
Music and Walks is a community project for like minded people to learn guitar, watch live music, eat together and enjoy the outdoors.
I provide the guitar tuition and walks are led by Steve Morgan. Steve trained as a mountain leader with the Royal Navy, but don’t worry you don’t have to be a super fit triathlete for these days out. That said participants must have a fairly good level of fitness as the days can last up to 4 hours in total, including stops and lunch. Durations vary for each experience.
Generally the walks are easy to moderate in difficulty and the walks themselves usually last around an hour or so, with breaks to take in the breath taking views.
WHAT ARE THE DAYS LIKE?
We have a group guitar lesson, we go for a walk, we have food, we chat and we unwind and recharge whilst taking in the panoramic views of the countryside. (We don’t carry the guitars with us on the walks). I also sometimes provide live music.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
Events are donation only, suggested donation is £20 or whatever you can afford
BURRATOR RESEVIOR
It was a fabulous day at Burrator Reservoir. We had guitar lessons outside under a gazebo on a back drop of stunning Dartmoor scenery in the sun. Then we proceeded for a nice walk and ended up in Barrator Inn for a tasty meal. Tony took wonderful care of us and he is an effective teacher of the guitar… We would strongly recommend Tony's days out to anyone. It was all wonderfully theraputic, a recharge to one's soul. 🎸🎼😊
HOUND TOR
Big thank you to Tony for organising such a lovely event. It was a perfect few hours and gave us the opportunity to ‘opt out’ of the stresses of everyday life! The venue was perfect…the weather was perfect…the guitar lesson was perfect…the walk was perfect and the picnic by the stream was peaceful/calm and perfect! Looking forward to next one. - Polly
Great day out with good company. Tremendous views, relaxing pub lunch and as always enjoyable and constructive guitar tuition. - Steve
